Betting Tips for the Smart Punter

Fitzpatrick the star man in Czech Masters

A few player in Europe are searching for Ryder Cup points and none more so than Matthew Fitzpatrick this week. He can cement his position in Darren Clarke’s team with a win in The Czech Open. Plenty of other players ready to step up after watching Justin Rose’s heroics in Rio, and the likes of Westwood and Donaldson will fancy a bit of the action in Prague.

One of the rising stars of European Golf is Matthew Fitzpatrick who has the talent and temperament to be one of the top players in the world. He took a couple of scalps at the Paul Lawrie Match Play giving him confidence for the remainder of the season, and it’s easy to forget he’s only in his second full season on the European Tour. A win in early June at The Nordea Masters showcased his talent once again and I see him right up there this weekend, with not too many players who are playing to his standard.

It’s only the third time this event has been played in Prague and the previous two Eddie Pepperell has performed pretty well. A 7th place in 2014 the highlight where he finished the tournament strongly with a 67 on the final day. Last year he did the opposite with his first two rounds in the 60’s, but then tailing off to finish just outside of the top 20. He obviously enjoys playing here and his form is taking an upward curve with a good result at The Kings Cup a couple of weeks ago. He’s yet to break his tour maiden tag but with the strength of the field not great he has big chances of grabbing that first victory very soon.

A player who looks a bit big in the betting market is Oliver Fisher, who made a timely return from the wilderness in Scotland a couple of weeks ago. He reached the semi final playing great golf and with that he secured enough money and points to get himself back in the reckoning for next years tour card. He was expected to be the next best thing in European golf a few years ago but fell off the radar with lots of missed cuts, but hopefully his fourth place can catapult him back to form and give him the required confidence.
