Betting Tips for the Smart Punter

Lukaku to smash the Swedes

The last of the 3rd round matches today and our money is on Lukaku smashing the Swedes out of the Euro’s. That’s the night game, along with Ireland needing a result against the Italians who are due to make wholesale changes to a team who have already won the group. The early matches feature Portugal hoping to improve on recent performances and Iceland and Austria fighting for a qualification spot. Last night we had Turkey to win at big odds and were extremely unlucky when Ramos missed a penalty, tipped up at 10/1. We’re ready for our luck to change tonight!

Hungary v Portugal

Yet again Portugal have been pretty disappointing this tournament and the pressure is on them to win there last group game. Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t firing and another penalty miss against Iceland prevented what should have been three points. Hungary on the other hand are the dark horses and have already qualified for the knockouts and could spring another surprise this afternoon. They are full of confidence and have a great back line that will be tested by the likes of Ronaldo and Nini, but we think they will hold steady and get at least the point they need to top the group.

Iceland v Austria

Both teams have a chance of qualification with a win more likely to take one of them through. Austria haven’t lived up to their pre tournament hype and look goal shy. Iceland have played well and done well to grab two points to leave their destiny in their own hands. It’s a hard game to call but there is value in a scorer bet. Gylfi Sigurdsson came alive in the last match and the Swansea player has an eye for goal, and confidence to boot. Take the Iceland talisman to notch anytime.

Italy v Rep.Ireland

Italy are set to make up to 8 changes from the team that beat Sweden in the last match, but even so they should be too strong for a poor looking Ireland side. Conte will bring in Zaza and Immobile as replacement strikers and both will be desperate to prove their worth and get in contention for the huge game against Spain on Monday. The Italians will want to take momentum to that game and it’s not their style to take their foot off the gas, a 100% record in group stage is a big boost to morale. On top of this Ireland haven’t shown any desire and their squad is pretty light, meaning a change won’t improve attacking options. The odds are far too big for Italy and we’re on them for the max bet, a long with an anytime scorer punt.

Belgium v Sweden

Sweden have been another team that haven’t shown much potential this tournament, and Zlatan has struggled to influence games like he does for PSG. They face a revitalised Belgium side who swept aside Ireland last time out, and Lukaku notching twice and putting himself back in contention for the Golden Boot. Wilmot’s side are going to be too strong for a Swdish side in need of a win to progress. We can see Belgium soaking up pressure and scoring on the break, although they have so many options in terms of tactics. Lukaku can be the man to shine once again and odds look good for him to cause problems and get on the score sheet again.
